“After one year leave of absence” — 1948

As of May 8, 1949, this was a regular weekly program simply titled “CBS Symphony Orchestra”. A note on the September 2 manuscript indicates that Herrmann resumed his activities after a one year leave of absence (during which he was composing his opera “Wuthering Heights”).

The list is assembled from program notes found in the Music Division of The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts, which also holds recordings of many of these broadcasts.
